Description
The Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5023 with crane from the Lego-Technic series is another licensed Mercedes product and was released in mid-2026. Once again, a highly realistic vehicle is built from nearly 1,200 pieces. Like its big brother, the 8110, this set also features a pneumatic crane, though with the difference that this one has only two cylinders and is manually supplied with air. However, this in no way detracts from the fun of playing with it. Thanks to its compact design, the crane can be fully folded up, though due to the air hoses and space constraints, it can only be rotated by about 200°. Under the hood is an inline 6-cylinder engine, which is powered by all-wheel drive. A positive feature is that a longitudinal differential has even been installed. Since the crane and the dump body are built as separate modules, nothing stands in the way of a conversion. The vehicle is rounded out by opening doors and a HOG steering mechanism on the roof, although the steering has room for improvement and functions poorly. Nevertheless, the model receives 6 stars.
